An anonymous donor has pledged NZ$5 million to the Christchurch Heart Institute at the University of Otago.
The bequest comes after the university launched a fundraising appeal on 6 September aimed at supporting four medical research and teaching projects in Christchurch. The gift is one of the largest ever made to the university.
Other projects chosen for the appeal are the Centre for Free Radical Research, the Carrell-Espiner Fellowships, and the Simulation Centre.
