The New Zealand government’s latest survey on attitudes to science has revealed that the country's citizens feel strongly about being involved in funding decisions.
According to the results, 65 per cent of respondents would like to have a say on what research the government invests in, with only 6 per cent saying they would not be interested in doing so.
The survey, conducted in September, follows up similar assessments in 2005 and 2010 to establish how the population feels about science and technology.
