New Zealand's government is to provide 2 million New Zealand dollars ($1.6m) to support start-up projects and mentoring for young innovators.
In a statement on 3 December, the youth minister Nikki Kaye said that the Youth Enterprise Fund would be used to support people under the age of 24 in schools, higher education and businesses. It will provide money for specific projects such as internships and mentoring initiatives, as well as for start-up companies.
“The skills and attributes the fund aims to foster include leadership, communication, innovation, problem solving, environmental and social responsibility, personal management and resilience,” said Kaye in a statement.
