Medical school moves to North Shore hospital

New Zealand health minister Jonathan Coleman has launched a $9.8 million “new generation” research and training centre at one of Auckland’s biggest public hospitals.

The Whenua Pupuke research centre at North Shore hospital will house the University of Auckland medical school and Auckland University of Technology’s biomechanical laboratories.

The expanded training facilities will include an auditorium, lecture theatres, classrooms and research laboratories for hospital staff, university researchers and students.
