The New Zealand government wants to reduce international student enrolments in Auckland, and make regional development part of a revised higher education plan.
Education minister Paul Goldsmith is calling for public comment on the government’s draft international education strategy, which sets out a seven-year plan for the $4.5 billion export industry.
Launching the draft on 30 June, he said that it aimed to ensure NZ “continues to benefit from international education through a high quality and sustainable international education sector”.
