Science minister Paul Goldsmith has announced changes to New Zealand’s main research grants programme, the Marsden Fund, as part of a national investment plan for science.
They include a new grant stream to support large interdisciplinary projects worth up to $3 million, and allowing researchers to apply for follow-on grants to sustain momentum for outstanding research.
Announcing the changes, Goldsmith said the three-year investment plan for the Marsden Fund will also contribute to a national statement of science investment.
