New Zealand can learn from “megatrends” affecting industrial relations across the European Union and their implications for wage growth, social equality and economic productivity, a visiting European academic has said.
Christian Welz, a senior research manager at the EU agency Eurofound, said that systems of industrial relations were being affected by the UK’s exit from the EU, bringing in “a new period of turbulence”.
Welz is visiting Massey University’s business school and will give a free public lecture on 26 February on the implications of Brexit for trade unions and collective bargaining.
