Student counselling services set up after Christchurch attacks

New Zealand universities are reviewing safety measures and have expanded student counselling services following terrorist attacks on two mosques in Christchurch.

An Australian gunman, who distributed a “manifesto” of extreme-right views to NZ media and politicians shortly before the first attack, fired military assault rifles into crowds attending Friday prayers. He also live-streamed the attacks on social media. More than 40 people were seriously injured and 50 were killed.

NZ media is reporting that international tertiary and secondary college students are among those listed as missing and may be among victims who are yet to be formally identified.
