Rural industries to benefit from NZ agri-tech initiative

Massey University has joined an industry research group that aims to support agricultural startups and the uptake of digital technologies across rural areas of New Zealand.

The Primary Industries and Regional Innovation Collaborative was formed in early May and will work with farmers to improve land management practices and reduce greenhouse emissions.

Members of the group include global technology giant Microsoft, NZ telecommunications company Kordia, government forestry research institute Scion and regional agri-tech business accelerator The Factory.
