New Zealand’s first international animal studies conference is to be held at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch in early July.
The event has attracted more than 150 international and NZ academics who will give papers on topics ranging from sustainability and managing introduced species to the depiction of animals in literature, art and film.
The four-day conference, Decolonizing Animals, will focus on human-animal interactions and will include speakers from Australia, Colombia, Mexico and the United States.
