Health system ‘must resolve confusion over big data’

  

Precision medicine and data analytics will only bring benefits if communication is improved, says academic

New Zealand’s health system needs clearer guidelines to define ownership and appropriate sharing of patient data for research, a Massey University business academic has said.

Kasuni Weerasinghe, a technology management lecturer with the university’s school of management, has identified a “high level” of uncertainty about privacy and data security among health professionals.
