Māori education programme unveiled as Ardern delivers Waitangi Day speech on shared understanding of history
New Zealand’s government has launched a higher education programme to build Māori leadership through cultural knowledge and research.
Associate education minister Kelvin Davis announced the Te Kawa Matakura initiative on 4 February, describing it as “a new step forward” for Māori achievement in higher education.
