$3.9m boost enables Pasifika Education Centre to expand and offer e-learning modules

Pacific languages give New Zealand a “competitive edge” as a bilingual country that values the role of cultural diversity in education and social wellbeing, Pacific peoples minister William Sio has said.

Speaking at the launch of the Pasifika Education Centre’s online languages programme in Auckland, he emphasised the importance of language in building cultural confidence among NZ youth with Pacific Islands heritage.
