Tokelau MP given responsibility for international student visas

Kris Faafoi, a former journalist and New Zealand’s first MP of Tokelauan heritage, has been appointed immigration minister following the sacking of Iain Lees-Galloway by prime minister Jacinda Ardern.

The portfolio change means Faafoi is now the minister responsible for international student visas, including post-study work applications.
