Pasifika researchers ‘stretched’ by expectations, study finds

New Zealand’s universities told to adapt to community needs so researchers can meet their obligations

Pasifika researchers are reporting additional workloads caused by expectations that they will support students from Pacific backgrounds, a research paper has said.

The paper, published in the Journal of New Zealand Studies on 14 January, said that at the University of Auckland, researchers with a Pacific background were often called on for advice on how to engage with Pacific students and communities.
