Allocation of funds to universities “will not even allow them to keep up with inflation”

New Zealand’s universities have been short-changed by the national budget on 19 May, vice-chancellors have claimed.

Labelling the funding increases for universities “tiny”, the vice-chancellors’ group Universities New Zealand said the outcome was disappointing and would not “even allow them to keep up with inflation”.
