Overhaul of nation’s health services to go ahead, but last-minute bid for research focus fails

New Zealand’s health system reforms will kick in on 1 July following the passage of the Healthy Futures legislation on 7 June.

Health minister Andrew Little said the new system would mark a “reset” of services.
