Review of New Zealand’s proposed Therapeutic Products Bill hears concerns over red tape

A proposed law controlling medical products in New Zealand could have an adverse effect on local clinical trials, a parliamentary inquiry has been told.

The health research lobby group New Zealanders for Health Research (NZHR) told parliament’s Health Committee that the proposal pays insufficient attention to research and health outcomes and too much attention to trade and economic factors.
