New Zealand’s prestigious postdoctoral scheme axed, but replacement unclear
New Zealand’s long-standing Rutherford fellowships for leading researchers will be discontinued.
The move is part of a government restructure of the country’s research funding system, known as Te Ara Paerangi—Future Pathways. No replacement for the Rutherford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme has been announced; however, there are plans to introduce new fellowship schemes.
