Fate of New Zealand’s universities in the hands of eight advisers

Members of tertiary education minister Penny Simmonds’s University Advisory Group revealed

The eight members of an advisory group on New Zealand university funding and the future of the Performance-Based Research Fund have been announced.

The appointment of the advisers, who will report to tertiary education minister Penny Simmonds (pictured), was immediately met with warnings from a top science body that without broad consultation, the group’s review of the system could fail.
