University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington report profits, but major concerns remain
The University of Auckland remained in profit in 2023 but with a lower margin than in 2022, down from NZ$85 million to NZ$29.5m.
The university’s annual report, released in March, also revealed that the institution received “new commitments of NZ$57.9m in philanthropic gifts and pledges during 2023”, including NZ$30.5m for research.
