Government launches Health Research Authority ‘light’ with remit to promote research

The UK government will launch a slimmed down version of its proposed Health Research Authority, to oversee the regulation of medical research on 1 December.

Speaking at a joint industry-NHS conference on 24 November, the Department of Health’s Candy Morris, responsible for establishing the HRA, said the agency would replace the National Research Ethics Service and the Integrated Research Application System.
