Immigration cap ‘real problem’ for Francis Crick centre, says Nurse

The government’s cap on immigration could prevent the £650 million Francis Crick Centre on medical research from attracting the talent it needs to succeed, Paul Nurse, chief executive of the institute, has warned.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Telegraph on 8 November, Nurse warned that the government has “shot us in the foot with the most highly trained, creative scientists subject to restrictions, in the sense of having caps on numbers”.
