Research Fortnight can get more excited than most when appointments are made at technology transfer organisations, but we were surprised at just how underwhelming the response was to the appointment of Tony Raven. Your correspondent had a confusing experience telephoning Cambridge Enterprise for an interview with Raven, who has just been announced as its new chief executive. “I’m sorry, we don’t have a Tony Raven working for us,” said an out-of-the-loop member of staff when we asked for his contact details. Perhaps we’ll call back next week.
