Despite being at the very centre of the storm of climate-sceptic abuse that has surrounded UEA’s Climatic Research Unit over the last few years, former head Phil Jones told journalists last week what really keeps him awake at night. “I’m trying to do the best science and that means working towards the REF in 2013,” he said. “In that I hope I’m judged by my papers, and not by my emails.”
