MPs concerned by ‘incomplete’ university reforms

The government’s higher education reforms should be postponed if it cannot introduce all the planned changes as a coherent package, the House of Commons Business, Innovation and Skills Committee has warned. In a report published on 10 November, the committee says tuition fees should not be increased until issues such as student number controls and the role of the Higher Education Funding Council for England are resolved. The MPs also want HEFCE to provide interim reports on the impact of the reform on postgraduate study.
