Anne Glover confirmed as EU’s first chief scientific adviser

The European Commission has appointed biochemist Anne Glover, Scotland’s chief scientific adviser, as the European Union’s first CSA. Glover, who has been CSA to the Scottish Government since 2006, is due to leave her post on 21 December. The appointment comes more than two years after the Commission’s president José Manuel Barroso pledged to find a CSA in September 2009.
