Defra: OECD test method development – mollusc reproductive toxicity tests development and validation of test guidelines

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs invites applications for its OECD test method development – mollusc reproductive toxicity tests development and validation of test guidelines.

A guideline describing partial and full lifecycle test procedures for two mollusc species, Potamopyrgus antipodarum and Lymnaea stagnalis, is being developed by a consortium of Germany, France, Denmark and the United Kingdom. The guideline is based on the detailed review paper on molluscs life-cycle toxicity testing (OECD Series on Testing and Assessment no. 121, ENV/JM/MONO(2010)9) and forms part of the OECD test guidelines programme. The aim of this project is to lead the UK contribution to this development.
