Wellcome boost for universities
The Wellcome Trust is distributing £19.8 million between 23 UK universities over the 2011-12 academic year through its Institutional Strategic Support Fund. The ISSF provides extra funds for institutions that already receive support from the trust for biomedical research. Awards range in value from £500,000 to £1.5m, with each university expected to provide matched funding.
