Research libraries strike ‘improved’ deal with publishers

Universities are set to save money as research libraries in the UK have reached “new and improved” deals with journal publishers Elsevier and Blackwell-Wiley.

Research Libraries UK says the deals, negotiated by Jisc Collections, mean that universities will save £20 million during the time of the agreements, allowing them to maintain journal subscriptions, book purchases and services for students and researchers.
