Badger cull on hold in Wales during review

The Welsh Assembly Government is to review the scientific evidence base for different approaches to tackling bovine tuberculosis in Wales. It aims to delay plans to implement a cull of badgers in a test area around north Pembrokeshire—the ‘intensive action area’—while the review is being carried out. The review will be overseen by John Harries, the assembly government’s chief scientific adviser, and conducted by a wider panel of advisers.
