Kent’s economy has suffered another blow following the announcement that the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory is to close its base in Fort Halstead.
The DSTL has confirmed that 840 jobs will be relocated to its other two laboratories in Porton Down in Wiltshire and Portsdown West in Hampshire in the next five years.
