Three leading biomedical research organisations have revealed plans for a top-tier, open-access journal for the biomedical and life sciences. The journal, a collaboration between the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Max Planck Society and the Wellcome Trust, will have shorter review times and be free both to publish in and to access.
