No benefit from 1 in 10 primate experiments

Some 91 per cent of publicly funded primate research between 1996 and 2006 was justified, an independent review panel has found.

For the remaining 9 per cent, no clear scientific, medical or social benefit has emerged, Patrick Bateson, emeritus professor of ethology at the University of Cambridge told a briefing in London on 27 July.
