Green light for £9k tuition fees at Scottish universities
Scotland’s universities will be able to charge students from the rest of the UK up to £9,000 (€10,000) in tuition fees, the country’s education secretary, Michael Russell, announced to the Scottish parliament on 29 June. Scottish students will be exempt from any fee rises. The plans mean that university places for Scottish students will be protected from “fee refugees” from England.
