Fukushima nuclear reaction closes Sellafied plant

The mixed oxide nuclear fuel manufacturing plant at the Sellafield site in Cumbria will close due to decreased demand in the Japanese market, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority announced on 3 August.

The MOX plant, which recycles plutonium into mixed oxide fuel, has been relying on a contract with 10 Japanese power companies, signed last year.
