King’s reopens chemistry department

King’s College London has reopened its chemistry department, eight years after its closure, the Nature News blog reports.

King’s announced that it would phase out its chemistry department in 2003, blaming the move on a decline in student numbers and a poor performance in the Research Assessment Exercise.
