Ethical Awards calls for action by citizen scientists

The 2012 Observer Ethical Awards have been launched with a call for the public to vote in the awards as well as to track invasive species in their local surroundings, the Guardian reported on 16 January.

“By asking members of the public, up and down the country, to help us with our [invasive species] project we can potentially build an invaluable resource of data that will allows scientists to test all sorts of hypotheses,” Darren Evans, lecturer in conservation biology at the University of Hull, told the news paper.
