UK MEP backs African bid for telescope project

Fiona Hall, leader of the Liberal Democrats in the European Parliament, has said she supports a bid by nine African countries to host the Square Kilometre Array astronomy project.

Hall has issued a written declaration supporting the bid and has so far secured signatures from five MEPs from different political groups in he European Parliament. The document will remain open for signatures until 16 February.
