Tonight, Aviemore in Scotland will host the premiere of the first feature film shot entirely on location in the Antarctic. Director Kirk Watson recruited British Antarctic Survey staff to not only produce but also star in his horror movie South of Sanity. Taking the term ‘low budget’ to a new level, scriptwriter Matt Edwards—also assigned the role of make-up artist—resorted to using children’s face paints to create that ‘just-died’ look for his cast.
