Royal Society volunteers put right Wikipedia entries for women scientists

The Royal Society will host an ‘edit-a-thon’ to improve Wikipedia profiles of women scientists. The session will see 15 editors work through a list of women researchers, including those who have no entries or small entries. The project is led by neuroscientist Uta Frith and involves physicist Athene Donald and historian of science Patricia Fara. Fara said: “I am against positive discrimination in the long term but this is important in the short term.” The edit-a-thon will take place at 2:30pm on 19 October at the Royal Society.
