Think long-term, universities told

Steve West, chairman of the University Alliance mission group, told The Guardian Higher Education Network that, in the face of everyday politics, universities must remember their long-term functions of knowledge creation and application.

He commented that policy is concerned with “the here and now”, but that “universities play a very long game in terms of creating futures and opportunities”.
