University staff more stressed than general population

University academics have higher stress levels and work longer hours than the general British working population, a survey by the University and College Union has found.

The survey of 14,000 higher education academic and academic-related staff at 87 institutions in the UK, published on 4 October, also found that stress levels have increased over the past four years.
