Budget freeze is a relief for parliamentary science office

The Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology has had its budget frozen until 2015 after a campaign to save it from cuts. A recent report of the Finance and Services Committee, which considers expenditure and administration for the House of Commons, proposed that POST reduce its expenditure by £98,000, or 17 per cent of its total budget. Any cut of more than 10 per cent would require POST to make some members of staff redundant.
