The NHS has one of the slowest processes in the world for dealing with new drugs and clinical trials, a conference in London organised by the Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis has concluded.
According to a 27 November Daily Telegraph report, one of the main outcomes of the meeting of around 100 scientists and clinicians was that “trusts and clinicians need to be supported to be able to carry out research, for example by freeing up senior consultant time to do research or by incentivising investigators to do research”.
