The Royal Society and the Department for International Development invite applications for the Africa capacity-building initiative – scientific network awards.
These support the development of collaborative research consortia between scientists in sub-Saharan Africa and a research institution in the UK. The overall aim of the scheme is to strengthen the research capacity of universities and research institution in sub-Saharan Africa. The awards will enable applicants to prepare a joint proposal for a five-year programme grant. The initiative concentrates on the following three research areas: water and sanitation, renewable energy and soil-related research.
