GM opposition ‘complete nonsense’ says environment secretary

Owen Paterson, the environment secretary, has described fears about the health risks of GM foods as “a complete nonsense” and argued that the UK must pursue the technology.

“Emphatically we should be looking at GM…I’m very clear it would be a good thing,” he told the Daily Telegraph this week.
