DH: using patient reported outcome measures to improve dementia care

The Department of Health’s policy research programme invites applications for research using patient reported outcome measures to improve dementia care.

This call is for research to assess the impact of memory assessment services and prescribed antipsychotic medication on the quality of life of people with dementia and their carers. The aims are to develop the application of patient reported outcomes in the context of dementia care and at the same time produce evidence that the collection of this data could improve services to these patients, specifically by using the measured outcomes to provide an evaluation of memory services and prescribed antipsychotics on the quality of life for both patients and carers.
