Figures published by the University of Cambridge on 2 March show that the institution has an endowment of around £4 billion.
According to the university’s student newspaper Varsity, the figure, which combines the funds of all Cambridge colleges and the separate university-wide fund, makes Cambridge the richest university in the UK.
