NC3Rs produces own metrics to counter ‘misuse’ of Home Office stats

The National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research has published its own animal research metrics, arguing that Home Office statistics are too often misused by anti-vivisection campaigners.

The organisation says in a statement published on 2 July that measurements using the Home Office’s annual Statistics of Scientific Procedures on Living Animals are “too broad brush to be used as a gauge of progress”.
